David Lowrie, Grundy County Herald Sports Correspondent For the first time since the 2000-2001 season and only the second time since the 1960s or longer, the Yellow Jacket men’s basketball team is the regular season district champions. Coach Mike Holt’s Jackets notched the title with an emotion filled win over Sequatchie County last Thursday at GCHS. The Grundy fans nearly blew the roof off Ricky Richards Gym throughout the contest and fans and students rushed the floor to congratulate the team when the seconds ticked off. It was a great night to be a Yellow Jacket fan.
