OBJECTIVES OF
Grundy County High School
In endeavoring to fulfill the broad
scope of responsibility stated in its philosophy, Grundy County High
School seeks to provide for each student the following.
| 1. An environment that will allow for an
outstanding academic program. |
| 2. An environment that increases parental
involvement at our school to enhance the overall program. |
| 3. An environment that communicates a positive
public image to all our constituents and public. |
4. An environment for intellectual development that
will:
- Challenge students to think critically.
- Emphasize reading, composition, and computation.
- Provide all students with an education as nearly appropriate
to their individual abilities and needs as possible.
- Expose students to possible career opportunities.
- Provide materials, curricula, and facilities as needed.

5. An environment for social interaction that will:
- Provide students with opportunities to grow both socially
and culturally.
- Instill in students the concept of self-worth.
- Stress the need and respect for authority.
- Develop good citizenship principles.
- Provide a cooperative relationship between students and
teachers as they solve problems and discover knowledge.
- Provide students with opportunities for the development of
leadership, participation, and teamwork.
- Broaden students' knowledge of and for the community.
- Provide experiences for cultural and esthetic appreciation.

6. An environment for physical development that
will:
- Develop an understanding of the importance of good health
for a good life.
- Provide students with opportunities to participate in
activities that promote physical fitness and an understanding
of the importance of being physically fit.
- Encourage habits of personal hygiene and proper nutrition.
- Provide students with knowledge concerning the effects of
substance abuse.
