grades and grading

Teachers will give a Nine-Week exam and a Final/End-of-Course exam at the designated times. See School Calendar for exact dates of Exams and issues of Report Cards.

The semester grade is the final grade and is recorder on the permanent record. The following grading scale is used at Grundy County High School. 

GRADES IN SCHOLARSHIP

                                              LETTER GRADE        DESCRIPTION               NUMBER SCALE

                                                       A                                  Excellent                                93 - 100

                                                       B                                   Very Good                           85 - 92

                                                       C                                   Average                               75 - 84

                                                       D                                   Below Average                     70 - 74

                                                       F                                    Failure                                   0 - 69

No quality points are awarded for those numerical grades below 70.

INCOMPLETE GRADES

The teacher within ten (10) school days following the end of the grading period must remove incomplete grades. Any incomplete grade that is not removed will be recorded as an "F".

HONOR ROLL

To qualify for the All-Star Honor Roll, a student must have 93 or higher in each course. The student must be registered for at least three (3) classes to qualify for the All-Star Honor Roll.

To qualify for the Honor Roll, student must have 93 or higher in at least one course and 85 or higher in all other courses. The student must be registered in at least three (3) classes to qualify for the Honor Roll.
